Photoluminescence of monovalent indium centres in phosphate glass
Valence control of polyvalent cations is important for functionalization of various kinds of materials. Indium oxides have been used in various applications, such as indium tin oxide in transparent electrical conduction films. However, although metastable In+ (5 s2 configuration) species exhibit photoluminescence (PL), they have attracted little attention. Valence control of In+ cations in thes...

متن کاملHighly polarized photoluminescence and photodetection from single indium phosphide nanowires.
We have characterized the fundamental photoluminescence (PL) properties of individual, isolated indium phosphide (InP) nanowires to define their potential for optoelectronics. Polarization-sensitive measurements reveal a striking anisotropy in the PL intensity recorded parallel and perpendicular to the long axis of a nanowire. The order-of-magnitude polarization anisotropy was quantitatively ex...

The crystallization of 40Fe2O3-60P2O5, 10ZnO-30Fe2O3-60P2O5 and (43.3−x)PbO–(13.7+x)Fe2O3–43P2O5, (0 < x < 30), glasses and glassceramic have been investigated. The structural evolution of glasses during heat treatment at various temperatures and the tendency for crystallization for series of glasses with modified composition are characterized by a dendrite-like phase separation in the early st...
متن کاملEnhanced Ultraviolet Photoluminescence of Gd in Silica Glass
Enhancement of photoluminescence (PL) signal from Gd-doped silica glass densified by rapid thermal treatment (RTT) in the ultraviolet (UV) is investigated. Significant decrease of the loss covering the UV band is observed. The strong emission detected at 314 nm is assigned to the P7/2 to S7/2 transition under excitation of DJ, IJ, and PJ energy levels of the Gd.
